💡 Tip: HABLAR is the model for all regular -AR preterite verbs — you already know this pattern from TOMAR (Ch5 Step 3): hablé, hablaste, habló, hablamos, hablasteis, hablaron. The yo form always has a written accent: hablé. Same endings: caminar → caminé, escuchar → escuché, preguntar → pregunté. Use HABLAR for telephone or face-to-face conversations: hablé con ella ayer.
